CURRENT STUDIO: 2017 Residency & Early Collaborations for their Current Tuesdays (SHIFT) presented by Factory Obacura

My partnership with the founders of Current Studio (later: Factory Obscura) began in 2016, during the early Paseo Art Walk days.

Before the permanent Mix-Tape location existed, I had been regularly visited by Romy Owens and Kelsey Karper as I performed Tarot Readings at a personal booth.

They encountered me one Art Walk and continued to frequent my booth for personal sessions. So impressed by the accuracy of my readings, would lead to them approaching me about their upcoming, then-secret projects.

During one specific session where they were intentionally withholding details about their next move, I kept receiving one persistent, repetitive word: 'Current.' >

When I shared this with them, they were visibly stunned. Romy then places a business card on the table that simply read: Current Studio. It was the reveal of their new artist immersion space and the precursor to the immersive shows they were planning.

That moment of synchronicity solidified my role in their creative circle, leading to my invitation to read at their events and eventually transitioning into the large-scale Guest Residencies I held at Factory Obscura for several ongoing events thereafter.
